WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY FLIGHT ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE?

Saga Carnival does not assist with making air travel, hotel, or ground transportation arrangements. However, we can provide these helpful tips to ensure your vacation goes as smoothly as possible.

The closest airports to the cruise port are:

Palm Beach International Airport (PBI)

Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport (FLL)

Miami International Airport (MIA)

Before The Cruise

Guests should plan to arrive the day before the cruise departs to avoid any potential flight delays, lost baggage, or other problems that may occur. PLUS, you can join us at the pre-party on Wednesday night.

On the date of departure, we recommend that you schedule your flight arrival at:-

Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) for no later than 1pm.

Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport (FLL) for no later than 12pm.

Miami International Airport (MIA) for no later than 11am.

Check-in for the cruise will begin at 11.30am, and all guests must be on the ship by 3:00pm. We will set sail at promptly at 3:30pm; Saga does not have the authority to delay the ship for late-comers.

After The Cruise

When booking your return flight, we recommend scheduling your departure:-

Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) after 11am.

Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport (FLL) after 12pm.

Miami International Airport (MIA) after 1pm.

WHAT IS THE BEDDING IN DOUBLE, TRIPLE & QUAD STATEROOMS?

Staterooms have two lower twin beds that can be converted to a queen size bed.

Triple staterooms have two lower twin beds which can convert to a queen size bed, with either an upper pullman, sofa-bed, or trundle available for 3rd guests.

Quad staterooms have two lower twin beds which can convert to a queen size bed, with upper pullman(s), sofa-bed, or trundle available for 3rd and 4th guests.

IS THIS AN ALL AGES CRUISE?

Guests must be 18 years of age on or before the date of departure in order to reserve a stateroom for the Cruise. Guests under the Age of 21 MUST travel with a relative or guardian of 25 years of age or older.

DO I NEED TO BOOK A HOTEL IN NASSAU?

No, for the duration of Carnival Weekend, the cruise ship will be docked in Nassau and serve as your floating hotel. You’ll be allowed to go and come as you wish.

DO I NEED A PASSPORT?

U.S. Citizens
You will require a valid proof of citizenship, this could be ONE of the following:
Passport (recommended) or
An ORIGINAL (or state-certified copy) birth certificate AND a government issued photo ID (driver’s licence).

SAGA CARNIVAL STRONGLY RECOMMENDS THAT ALL SHIPMATES TRAVEL WITH A VALID PASSPORT
Having a valid passport will help to expedite your debarkation experience as delays may occur upon return to the United States for those without one. Additionally, this will enable guests to fly from the United States to meet the ship in Nassau should they miss the scheduled embarkation or allow guests who must disembark the ship before their cruise ends due to an emergency to fly back to the United States without significant delays and complications.

You MUST have the following travel documentation: United States Permanent Resident Card AND passport from your home country.

Non-U.S. Citizens
Non-U.S Citizens are required to have both: a valid, unexpired passport and a valid, unexpired Multiple Entry Visa (if applicable).

DOES SAGA CARNIVAL OFFER A PAYMENT PLAN?

Yes, a deposit per person is charged at the time of booking and the total remaining balance will be split into equal monthly instalments and will be automatically charged to the credit card on file.

Plans must be paid in full by April 30 of the carnival year.

WHAT IS THE DEPOSIT AMOUNT REQUIRED TO RESERVE A CABIN FOR THE 2022 SAGA CARNIVAL CRUISE?

A deposit of $250 per person (or $350 per person for suites) is required to reserve a carnival package.

Yes. Saga Carnival charters an entire ship for Bahamas carnival weekend so it’s just us carnival chasers and soca junkie on board. Saga Carnival also programs all of the entertainment and activities onboard the ship so get ready to fully immerse yourself in a complete carnival experience.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

ALL RESERVATIONS DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE

Due to the unique nature of our event, any and all reservations, pre-party purchases, costume/j’ouvert upgrades/addons and the additional taxes/fees/gratuities amount are non-refundable for any amount or any reason, and cancellation forfeits all payments. There are NO exceptions to our cancellation policy. We strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance.

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by using our Cancellation Request Form.

The date that such notice of cancellation is received via this form will determine the applicable fees per the above schedule. No exceptions will be made.

Please Note: Although travel insurance is offered to guests during the reservation process, all travel insurance policy sales and payments are made directly with Travel Guard and are non-refundable. CAN I CANCEL & GET A REFUND?

By purchasing a Saga Carnival package, you agree that all deposits and payments made are non-refundable. Due to the unique nature of our events and that costumes are custom made to your size request, Saga Carnival does not provide refunds for cancellations or no-shows. All payments made are final and non-refundable. In the event that you cannot make it or carnival is canceled by no fault of Saga Carnival, refunds are not issued.

Again, Saga Carnival strongly suggests that shipmates purchase travel insurance through Travel Guard to protect you against unforeseen circumstances.

WHAT TYPES OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED?

We accept most major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. We will also accept payment by payment by check, only when prior arrangements have been made and when submitted by mail or overnight courier.

 

We only accept third party credit card payments (from a person not attending the cruise) when a Third Party Credit Card Authorization Form is signed by the card holder. HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO DRINK ALCOHOL ON THE CRUISE?

While on the ship, alcoholic beverages will not be sold or served to anyone under the age of 21 and the cruise line reserves the right to refuse the sale of alcoholic beverages to anyone. Alcoholic beverages purchased in the vessel’s gift shops or at a port of call will be retained by the cruise line until the end of the voyage.

In Nassau, the legal drinking age is 18.

Saga Carnival and the cruise line encourage the responsible use of alcohol and accordingly reserves the right to permanently or temporarily revoke the drinking privileges of any guest who violates Guest Conduct Policy or who is deemed a danger to himself, herself or others by the management of Saga Carnival or the cruise line. Continued abuse of alcohol while sailing and/or violation of Saga Carnival or the cruise line’s alcohol policy may result in immediate disembarkation. In such cases Saga Carnival nor the cruise line shall not be liable for damages, refund or other compensation, including travel costs.

ARE THERE MEDICAL SERVICES ONBOARD?

The ship has a well-equipped Medical Center, supervised by a doctor and medical personnel. Please note, however, that they are equipped to provide only basic medical care; the cruise ship does not offer care for conditions requiring specialised expertise or equipment.

Per our Terms & Conditions, you acknowledge that all or part of the Cruise may be in areas where medical care and/or evacuation may not be available. You agree to indemnify and reimburse Saga Carnival and the cruise line in the event that either party, in its sole discretion, has to advance to you the cost of emergency medical care, including medical evacuation and/or medical care provided ashore, as well as transportation and/or lodging in connection therewith. Saga Carnival and the cruise shall have no responsibility to advance any such costs.

Is airfare included in the trip cost?

No. All guests are responsible for booking their own airfare and/or travel to and from the cruise port.
